With no great cheer being offered by Mr Brown in his Budget for either those who already own their property or first- time buyers looking to get onto the property ladder, now is a better time than ever to make the move overseas or start building your property portfolio. This week also saw the declaration of a permanent ceasefire by the Basque separatist group Eta in a move timed to urge the Spanish and French governments to join them around a negotiating table and try to sort out the future of the region. We hope there is a resolution to the Basque question soon, but this move by Eta will only go to boost the confidence of travellers throughout Spain.

As we all know, the Brits are very fond of their pets and for many the companionship of man’s best friend is second to none. However, what happens when you decide you want to relocate and take old pooch along with you? When we decided to move to Spain, four years ago, we wanted our two dogs to come with us, both Yorkshire terriers. We were surprised to discover what a simple process it actually was and were pleasantly pleased by the amount of help and advice we received.
