The Coast of Almería: a region yet to discover.
The Andalusian province of Almería is located in the southwest of the Iberian peninsula on the shores of the Mediterranean sea.The province covers more than more than 8,000 square kilometres surface.

With 3,000 hours of sunshine per year Almería holds the title of Spain's most sunny town. The area has an average annual temperature of 18/19ºC. However in winter the coastal water temperature is higher than the air temperature which means that also during the 'cold' months you can take a bath in the Mediterranean.

Due to the mild climate you can enjoy Almeria's spectacular beaches and landscapes the whole year round.

All these features turn this province into the ideal destination for your holidays: besides miles of beaches, iand numerous beautiful landscapes, here you may practice any kind of sport and leisure activities, Almería also has an important historic-artistic heritage.

The Region
Situated in the south of Spain, within the region of Andalucia, the province of Almeria possesses an unbeatable advantage: 3000 hours of sun per year make sure that you can enjoy the best climate in the whole of Europe. Mile long beaches offer pleasure and fun for anyone's taste

Economy
Being capital of the district Vera is one of the bigger commercial centres of the region. Without any doubts tourism is the key-factor of the "veratensian" economy. Although several investments have already been made and the existing offer is wide-spread this sector's still got a big stake in the future: there's a favourable trend towards urban development

Tourism is the Key Factor
Vera is the business and administration centre of the Levante region in Almería.

As in the rest of Andalucia, the mining crisis and the decline of traditional agriculture at the beginning of the 20th century caused a demographic decline in Vera - people migrated into cities or other regions. When the Franquist regime began to open towards the Western democracies in the sixties and seventies, the tourism sector experienced a favourable trend: the extraordinary beauty of the landscape and the advantage of mild temperatures throughout the whole year attracted tourists from all over the world, mainly from the UK and Germany.

Due to its extensive infrastructure, Vera - the capital of the district - is in a position to offer various services, such as the District Court of Justice, the Notary's office, the tax and registry office, the Public Health Department, two primary and secondary schools, an education centre for adults and a public kindergarten. As for cultural institutions, the Historical Archive is known and respected as one of the most important archives of Spain.

There is visible proof of the growth in trade - eight financial institutions as well as various insurance companies, advisory services and agencies which have been set up in Vera in recent years.

Why the coast of Almeria?
The Costa de Almería, also called Costa del Levante? Indeed it is not as well known as other Spanish coasts, such as the Costa Blanca or the Costa Sol. Nevertheless the coast of Almeria has some unbeatable advantages: a wild, romantic landscape which hasn't yet been discovered by mass tourism, lots of lonely coves; long, wide beaches and - especially - its climate: especially appealing for North Europeans in search of sun and warmth: an ideal place to spend the winter.

The Northern side of the Costa de Almeria, where you'll find the residential estate Pueblo Salinas, extends over a 100 km-long coast: from Cabo de Gata (the only desert in Europe, where the plants growing between the dunes cannot be found anywhere else on earth) passing along the coastline Carboneras, Mojácar, Garrucha and Vera to San Juan de los Terreros.

Why buy real estate in Spain?
An investment for the future - the boom will last?

The whole coast of Andalucia has great potential for profitable investments. The British have chosen Spain as their number one "holiday country".

Due to the high demand for real estate there is still an enormous potential for appreciation.

According to the latest news, Spain (and mainly the Andalucia region) is particularly popular among British tourists. The most recent opinion polls reveal that 27% of the Germans would like to live in Spain, 800.000 households are planning to make an investment in this country. And the quota of British visitors is always on the increase.

Purchasing property in Spain offers many advantages, especially nowadays. Whether it's an apartment, a terraced house, a villa or a finca, whether it's a holiday home, or a second home should you want to live in Spain: whoever buys first saves money.

In this region property is always an excellent investment: prices are always increasing. According to a study by a German bank, there will be a big boom in the years to come, with a considerable increase in the value of Spanish real estate.
